The concept: excellence through technology
Located in the Principality of Monaco, ISM is a state-of-the-art institution that values innovation, creativity, and personalized support to foster academic excellence. To embody this high standard, the school chose Apple. The goal was to implement a seamless MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution to ensure every Mac or iPad is strictly assigned to a student, while being accurately linked to the correct building and department via Apple School Manager.
The challenge
Technical challenges to overcome
The organization faced two major challenges regarding its device fleet management. The first involved device onboarding into Jamf Pro, which proved difficult for end-users during the enrollment phase. The second critical issue was securing data across all endpoints. Specifically, it was necessary to prevent students from removing Apple IDs while enforcing iCloud backups.
The approach
The deployment strategy
An in-depth assessment was first conducted by our Apple-certified technicians to audit the enrollment workflow and test configuration profiles.
To meet the security requirements, we created a Smart Group system within Jamf Pro: the system first identifies devices with an Apple ID, then automatically deploys a restriction profile that prevents the removal of the ID and enables iCloud backups.
Heliaq (formerly Koesio Corporate IT) involvement made it possible to build a robust infrastructure (Wi-Fi, MDM, enrollment) backed by a high-performing partner ecosystem: Apple School Manager, Jamf Pro, Jamf Connect, Jamf Protect, and Microsoft Azure. Today, the solution’s automation guarantees a seamless rollout, optimal data security, and a user experience driven by excellence.
